Actually, not so dangerous, unless you are foolish... Like I was today.
In the excitement following Saturday's trip into town, I decided to try again.
I have two events coming up in the near future which require smart casual wear, and none of my jackets fit me anymore. The shops in Brent Cross don't carry my size, so the only alternative was the internet or Oxford Street.
Unfortunately I hadn't factored in any lingering effects from Saturday over exertion, and by the time I got to the tube station at Golders Green, I was already in discomfort. The pain was starting to make itself felt.
Not really having any choice, I persisted and travelled into town.
Within an hour of wking Oxford Street and unsuccessful shopping, I was really starting to feel the pain, mostly in my upper back. Having got this far though, I felt I might as well complete the clothes hunt and went on to the next shop.
Fortunately I found a jacket I can wear with jeans and also with smart slacks, and it was only slightly over the budget I had set.
A shop assistant took this photo of me in Debenhams. I did spot the label in the sleeve which is now removed.
I then went back to John Lewis, having not found anything suitable there earlier, and had my monthly free coffee and cake.
For some reason, by the time I had finished my coffee, my lower back was giving me quite severe pain, and I was worried about how I would get home.
I parked myself on another chair in the restaurant and rested and rested. I can't remember how long it took, but the pain eventually eased enough to be able to walk, even if only rather slowly.
I'm currently resting, again, in Golders Green after the tube journey homewards. All that remains is a short bus ride home which I should be able to manage.
Sorry about the gloom, but I needed to express my frustration.
