When sending an email that you need to follow up, use the SimplyFile More Actions option.

(SimplyFile is an Outlook add-on that I have been using for several years and can't imagine working without it.)

This is what it looks like on Office 2007 onwards. Office 2003 is slightly different being on a bar.

Send, File and TaskIt does the obvious, and then brings up a Task window with most of the details already filled in – with the body of the email in the body of the task.

Send, file and ScheduleIt does something similar, except that it sets up a meeting (event) instead of a task.

Really, really useful.
